Technology has been a significant part of my life for as long as I can remember. From my first Gateway computer to my latest iPhone, I have always been an early adopter of new gadgets and services. However, after almost three decades of constantly being bombarded with new technologies, I have come to realize that my relationship with technology needs to change.
The constant stream of new devices, apps, and social media platforms has turned technology into a distraction machine. Maintaining a presence across multiple social media networks, managing a plethora of apps on my phone, and dealing with a never-ending barrage of notifications has become overwhelming and exhausting. It has reached a point where I feel like technology is holding me back rather than enhancing my life.
Therefore, I have embarked on a quest to build a new kind of relationship with technology. I want to interact with technology in a way that is beneficial for me and enhances my life, rather than adding to my stress and anxiety. This journey will involve making significant changes, such as adjusting my notification settings, decluttering my phone, unsubscribing from unnecessary services, and potentially deleting some social media accounts.
I believe that by making these changes, I will feel less stressed, more present, and have more time for the things that truly matter. It will be a challenging journey, but one that I am willing to take in order to regain control over my relationship with technology. Ultimately, I am confident that this new approach will lead to a more fulfilling and balanced life.
