Despite this explanation, critics pointed out Trump’s history of using language and rhetoric associated with Nazi Germany.
President Joe Biden seized on the video, condemning Trump’s actions as reminiscent of Hitler’s language and not fitting for an American president. Biden highlighted Trump’s pattern of incendiary comments and divisive rhetoric, accusing him of caring more about holding onto power than the well-being of the American people.
The Trump campaign quickly distanced itself from the video, claiming it was created by a random account online and reposted by a staffer without proper oversight.
