SAIC Motor, one of China’s leading automakers, made waves in the industry with the announcement of its new generation of base technologies at the SAIC Motor New Energy Technology conference. The company unveiled groundbreaking innovations including solid-state batteries, intelligent chassis, and other cutting-edge advancements.
SAIC’s “seven technology bases” bring together global R&D resources to create three vehicle platforms – pure electric, hybrid, and hydrogen, along with full-stack solutions for batteries, electric drives, super hybrid systems, and intelligent vehicles. This move solidifies SAIC’s position as a key player in the automotive market.
Vice President Zu Xijie emphasized the importance of mastering core technologies and obtaining patents as a prerequisite for global expansion. The highlight of the technology released by SAIC includes the all-solid-state battery, energy closed loop, powertrain, intelligent chassis, and full-stack solution.
The all-solid-state battery, a core research result of SAIC, is expected to achieve mass production soon, offering higher energy density, improved safety, and lower material costs. The newly released IM L6, equipped with several research results of SAIC, showcases the company’s commitment to innovation and technological advancement.
SAIC’s focus on intelligent vehicles is evident with the launch of the first full-stack technology solution for intelligent vehicles in the automotive industry. This supports the mass production of L3-level autonomous driving and enhances user experience through innovative technology.
With the release of the second generation of the seven technology bases, SAIC is poised to compete in the new energy market and drive business growth. Collaborations with Audi and other key players further strengthen SAIC’s position in the industry. As China’s auto sales continue to soar, SAIC’s technological advancements and strategic partnerships position the company for success in the evolving automotive landscape.
