Minoa Businesses Receive Main Street Funding from Onondaga County
Minoa, NY – A handful of Minoa businesses have been granted Main Street funding from Onondaga County, announced by the county’s executive, Ryan McMahon, on May 29. The press conference took place on North Central Avenue in front of Scotty’s Automotive, one of the village’s funding recipients.
The county has invested a total of $591,684, with $443,762 coming from the county for the listed projects, and the businesses collectively providing a match of $147,921 for the Main Street endeavor.
The grant recipients include Parkway Pizza, Scotty’s Automotive, Coneheads Ice Cream, Charlie’s Tavern, Trappers II Pizza & Pub, Jen Wood, Perry Real Estate Holdings, and Cutting Edge. The funds will cover a variety of improvements such as new doors, windows, roofing, siding, patio enhancements, and more.
During the press conference, Minoa Mayor Bill Brazill expressed gratitude to McMahon and his county staff for their support and emphasized the importance of small businesses in the community. McMahon highlighted the significance of job creation from small businesses and the positive impact of the grants on the local economy.
Business owners, like Adam Behr of Coneheads Ice Cream, expressed appreciation for the funding, noting that it will help enhance the appearance of their establishments and attract more customers. Tom Scott, owner of Scotty’s Automotive, shared his gratitude for the assistance, which will allow his son Lance to take over the business smoothly.
Overall, the Main Street funding from Onondaga County has been instrumental in supporting Minoa businesses and contributing to the revitalization of the village. With a total investment of $1.5 million since 2019, the Main Street program has had a significant impact on the local economy and community development in Minoa.
