Newcastle’s Thomas A. Stevens Cemetery Memorials and Cemetery Restorations, a longstanding business in the community, is undergoing a significant change as founder Thomas Stevens passes the reins to his son, Casey Stevens. After nearly 50 years in operation, the business will now be known as Stevens Monuments & Granite Works.
Thomas Stevens, at 70 years old, expressed feelings of being overwhelmed with running the business and decided it was time to retire. His son, Casey Stevens, who has been involved in the business since a young age, is excited to take over and continue providing quality monuments to the people of Lincoln County.
Casey Stevens, a graduate of Lincoln Academy, has had a diverse career, including working for the county and serving as the director of the Lincoln County Emergency Management Agency. He is currently the Newcastle fire chief and director of facilities at Lincoln Academy.
The business, originally established in 1975, has a long history in the community, providing a variety of services such as granite benches, posts, engravings, monuments, and markers. Moving forward, customers can expect modernization within the shop, including the use of computer software for stencil cutting and stone design, leading to quicker turnaround times.
Stevens Monuments & Granite Works will remain at its current location on Lynch Road in Newcastle, with Casey Stevens at the helm. For more information about the business, customers can contact 563-1376, email stevensmonuments@gmail.com, visit stevensmonuments.com, or find them on Facebook. The community is excited to see the legacy of quality craftsmanship continue under new ownership.
