Cottle Village: A New Development Coming to Cottleville
St. Louis natives Stephen and Emily Savage are bringing a new development to Cottleville with the creation of Cottle Village. The couple recently acquired four and a half acres of land that will be transformed into a vibrant community space featuring a restaurant and bar, whiskey distillery, and outdoor stage.
The former plant nursery site is described as a rural Missouri oasis, rich in ornamental grass and shady trees. Stephen Savage, known for his successful restaurants and entertainment venues in downtown St. Louis, saw the potential in the area and decided to invest in creating a space that would meet the needs of the local community.
Initially met with some skepticism from nearby residents, the Savages were able to address concerns and gain support for their project. Construction on Cottle Village began in April, with plans for the businesses to open by the end of the year.
The main building, known as the Tavern, will house a 270-seat restaurant and bar serving affordable American steakhouse-style food. The adjacent distillery and patio area will offer tastings and bottle purchases, while the Field will feature a fast-casual food stand, live music stage, and outdoor seating options.
With a $6 million investment and the creation of 100 new jobs, Cottle Village is poised to become a hub for the Cottleville community. The Savages hope that their development will add to the already thriving local scene and become a destination for residents and visitors alike.
