The highly anticipated “The Roast of Tom Brady” aired on Netflix as part of the “Netflix is a Joke Festival,” and it did not disappoint. The event took place at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, with Brady, the seven-time Super Bowl champion quarterback, as the main target of the evening.
Former teammates and colleagues, including Bill Belichick, Drew Bledsoe, Randy Moss, Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman, and more, gathered to take jabs at Brady in a night filled with laughter and good-natured ribbing.
Some of the best burns of the night included Julian Edelman’s joke about Brady’s ex-wife, Rob Gronkowski’s quip about barely knowing Brady after playing together for 11 years, and Drew Bledsoe’s plea for Brady to stay retired.
Comedian Nikki Glaser didn’t hold back either, poking fun at Bledsoe’s near-death experience and Randy Moss’s lack of Super Bowl rings during his time with Brady.
Even Bill Belichick got in on the action, joking about his rescue of Moss from the Raiders and taking a playful jab at Brady’s involvement with the English soccer team Birmingham City.
Will Ferrell, in character as Ron Burgundy, called Brady a “dead robot of a quarterback” and mocked his playing style, while Peyton Manning teased Brady about his Super Bowl losses to Eli Manning.
Robert Kraft even got in on the fun, joking about Vladimir Putin stealing his Super Bowl ring.
Overall, “The Roast of Tom Brady” was a night to remember, filled with laughter, camaraderie, and plenty of good-natured teasing among friends and former teammates. Viewers can catch all the hilarious moments when the special airs on Netflix in May.
