President Russell M. Nelson, the 99-year-old leader of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is set to address members as the global faith concludes its 194th Annual General Conference. Whether in person or through a recorded sermon, Nelson is expected to deliver a message to the faithful.
During Saturday’s sessions, Nelson attended one in person at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City and viewed the others remotely. As is tradition, new temples may be announced during the conference.
In a social media post last week, Nelson hinted that he may deliver his remarks in a recorded message, similar to what he did last autumn while recovering from a fall. On Sunday morning, he watched the session from home while his counselor, Henry B. Eyring, conducted the meeting.
The conference featured various speakers, including President Dallin H. Oaks, who emphasized the importance of wearing temple garments continuously as a reminder of sacred covenants. Other speakers like Seventy Brian K. Taylor and Apostle Patrick Kearon shared messages of hope, faith, and trust in God.
Apostle Dale Renlund highlighted the importance of maintaining spiritual momentum by continually following the teachings of Jesus Christ. Primary President Susan Porter encouraged children to be diligent in their prayers and shared a personal experience of answered prayers.
Overall, the General Conference provided members with spiritual guidance and uplifting messages to strengthen their faith and commitment to the teachings of the church.
